Dan is the Association’s website administrator and ‘tech guy’, keeping ubas.club up to date and functional.
After spending three years on UBAS while studying at Keele University, he joined the Royal Air Force as an Aerospace Battle Manager. After becoming his unit’s media representative, he realised his passion for PR and communications, re-branching to the People Operations Profession to pursue a career in Media Operations.
From 2019-2020 he was the the Media and Communications Officer and Spokesperson for RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland, leading the media engagements for arrival of the first five submarine-hunting Poseidon aircraft, travelling to Nigeria with the RAF Regiment, and visiting as many of the Scottish islands as possible.
He was then posted to 83 Expeditionary Air Group, leading a mobile news team tasked with covering the RAF’s activities in the Middle East. He led the media planning and delivery for the first operational use of Storm Shadow cruise missiles from RAF Typhoons, as well as Exercise Epic Skies IV which saw 12 Squadron flying the Eurofighter Typhoon in Qatar, for the first time as a joint RAF-Qatari squadron.
Dan was then posted to MOD Main Building as a Staff Officer to the Assistant Chief of the Air Staff. He led high profile activities including the Senior Leadership Team’s engagements at the Royal International Air Tattoo, became a problem solver and strategic advisor for the Channel 4 documentary Top Guns: Inside the RAF, and coordinated the high profile funeral of Peter Brown, one of the last remaining Caribbean WWII aircrew.
Dan now works for aerospace firm Leonardo as their Media Relations Lead, and remains in the RAF as a Media Operations Reserve.
