Dan is one of our Events Members on the UBAS Association committee.
He joined the University of Birmingham Air Squadron in 2016 while studying Maths at the University of Warwick, and still considers it 3 of the best years of his life.
Taking advantage of every opportunity he went on two skiing expeditions, a week at the adventurous training centre in Bavaria, two battlefield tours in France and Belgium with Foots, two sailing expeditions, countless socials and roughly 60 hours flying!
Dan’s original plan was to join the RAF as a weapon systems officer, but three days before starting at RAF College Cranwell the Royal Navy offered him a place at Dartmouth as a pilot. With such an offer he had to ditch the RAF, joining the senior service instead.
He has been streamed rotary wing, and is currently holding at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton for a July 2024 start at RAF Shawbury. He hopes to be streamed onto the Merlin and to be posted either to Culdrose, or back to Yeovilton.
Dan enjoys playing squash, long walks and association events.
