Sam (Bam) Baker is the editor of the Association Newsletter.
Bam joined UBAS in 2018 while occasionally studying Economics at the University of Birmingham. Despite COVID taking a good chunk out of his precious Blue Lion bar time, Bam managed to travel to eight countries with the Squadron and, most notably, setting up an exchange program with a US Air Force University unit Det 157 – which still sends Blue Lions to Florida to this day.
Bam was the Senior Student in his 3rd year and had the best times of his life on the Squadron with some amazing fellow students. Kernow, skiing and the classic Normandy trips with Foots were the highlights.
Bam stuck around for a 4th (ish) year after graduating from the University of Birmingham and managed to complete 70 hours of flying on the mighty Tutor, before joining the RAF proper in 2022. Currently, Bam is enjoying the sunny island of Anglesey North Wales, flying the Hawk T2 on IV Sqn at RAF Valley.
